Minoxidil

A treatment option for selected types of hair loss.

Benefits & considerations

For some types of pattern hair loss, topical minoxidil can help slow thinning and support regrowth with consistent use. Results take time and ongoing treatment is usually needed to maintain them. Topical and oral forms have different risks; oral minoxidil for hair loss is off-label.

Finasteride

A prescription option with eligibility and safety considerations.

Benefits & considerations

If male pattern hair loss is progressing, finasteride can help slow further loss and may support regrowth. Benefits take time and require continued treatment. It is FDA-approved for male pattern hair loss in men; use in women is off-label. Sexual side effects and pregnancy-related risks need discussion.

Before you decide

Eligibility & safety

Understand eligibility, limits and safety before considering treatment.

Why does the pattern of hair loss matter?

Different causes of hair loss need different approaches. Increased shedding, a widening part, a changing hairline or patches of loss can lead to different evaluations. Hair loss is not always hormonal, and a photograph alone cannot establish the cause.

What does an evaluation consider?

An evaluation considers when the change began, the pattern, health history and previous treatments. A clinician may consider an examination or tests when indicated. Sudden, patchy or otherwise concerning changes may need in-person assessment rather than a routine online treatment pathway.

What treatments may be considered?

Minoxidil and finasteride are among the planned options, with selection dependent on the cause and patient. Topical and oral forms are not interchangeable. Oral minoxidil for hair loss is off-label; an ingredient name does not mean that every formulation is approved or available through Mednaro.

Are the options the same for women and men?

Not necessarily. Finasteride is FDA-approved for male pattern hair loss in men; use for hair loss in women is off-label and requires particular clinical consideration. Pregnancy and pregnancy plans are important prescribing considerations. Finasteride, dutasteride and spironolactone are not suitable for every hair-loss patient.

How is progress assessed?

Progress needs individual follow-up and realistic expectations. Consistent photographs may help a clinician compare changes over time, but Mednaro does not promise regrowth or a fixed result timeline. Follow-up timing, secure photo handling and prescription arrangements must be confirmed before enrollment.

Frequently asked questions

Contact support

Can I start care now?

No. Clinical enrollment is not yet open. You can explore this information and contact general support with administrative questions. Do not send medical history, medications or sensitive personal details by ordinary email.

What does care cost, and what is included?

Pricing will be shown before enrollment opens. What is included, any separate costs, insurance acceptance and cancellation terms will be explained before you choose care.

Where will this service be available?

Services and treatment availability vary by state and clinical eligibility. Availability will be confirmed before enrollment opens.

How will prescriptions and follow-up work?

Mednaro provides the technology experience and nonclinical support. Medical decisions are made by appropriately licensed clinicians through independent clinical groups. When prescribed, medication is dispensed by licensed third-party pharmacies. Fulfillment and follow-up arrangements will be confirmed before enrollment opens.

What if treatment is not appropriate?

A consultation does not guarantee a prescription. A clinician may recommend further evaluation or another next step. Any payment and refund terms will be explained before a paid evaluation becomes available.
